Legendary Collection was released in 2002 as a way for Pokemon to commemorate their achievements and is the reason for the fireworks holo pattern on the cards. This set also introduced the very earliest example of a reverse holo. Out of any Wizards of the Coast set, Legendary Collection had the lowest production quantity and was only made in English. This unique holo pattern was never used in any other set to date and are some of the most sought after cards in the entire hobby. These have been exploding in value lately, with a PSA 10 Meowth selling for $66,000 at the end of May! Yes, I said a Meowth! We have included 4 of the top 6 most valuable cards in the set in this release including the Dark Blastoise($80k), Pikachu($150k), Mewtwo($120k) and the Gyarados($80k). These cards have incredibly low PSA 10 populations. We have also included the standard holos which are even more scarce, with many of them having single digit PSA 10 populations. Many of the cards from this set haven’t sold in a while and it’s been very common for them to break previous price records when they finally surface at auction. Every single card is a PSA 10 and these are limited to 100.
